Hello Third Trimester!
I know this sounds crazy, but I didn't realize I was in the third trimester already! I can't believe it. The first half of my pregnancy seemed to move SO SLOW, but now it feels like it's moving so fast! I really can't believe we only have around 3 months left before we get to meet our little guy! It's very surreal.
I feel like we're on track with everything-nursery, birthing classes, registry, etc. but at the same time, haven't done a ton of reading on what to do once he's here. (breastfeeding, sleeping, etc.) I hope that comes naturally and if not, I know I have a few people I can go to for advice! (that and the internet + all the baby books we have) Ugh, I can't get myself to read through every chapter of those books though. They seem never-ending. What did people do before all of these crazy books were written? Just go with their natural instinct, obviously. So I'm going to try to do a little of both I guess and hope it works out!
It's also strange to think about how different our lives will become once he arrives. I want to savor the little things that Josh and I can do so easily as a couple now, even if it's just our time together to watch our favorite shows or cook a meal. I know that we'll still be able to do all of the things that we love, but it just won't be as easy once the baby comes. So I definitely am not taking any of our time together for granted!
On the flip side, both of us are so ready for December! There's only so much you can do up until then. It's an extremely long waiting game. And I'm constantly reminded of him by the size of my ever-growing belly! (note to self: take more belly pics! I've been slacking) The good thing is, we have a lot to look forward to leading up to his birth (hello football, everything FALL, Halloween, Thanksgiving!) so I think it will go by pretty fast. Until then, I'll just have to keep daydreaming to get by. :)

Mumford & Sons
Monday night we went to see one of our favorite bands, Mumford & Sons, at the Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln. I have to note a couple of things here:
1) This is the place where I used to run cross country-like, all of the time! We practiced and actually had a lot of meets here back in the day, so it brought back a ton of memories for me. Speaking of memories, one of my first ones as a kid was going to my brother's cross country meets here and running down the "slides" a.k.a. seriously dangerous wooden slides meant for sledding in the winter. (I think that's what their purpose was...)
2) This is the first year they've had live music since 1995-and they actually got some really good bands! Rumor has it, this was due to the fact that they finally got a liquor license. (makes sense)
3) I love this place. It's so "outdoorsy" and cute. You're nuzzled in between lit-up pine trees and it only fits about 5,000 people, so it's very intimate for an outdoor venue.
4) Can't wait for next year! The place just gives me warm fuzzies inside when I think about it or experience it.
I'm so glad we ended up going-I almost flaked out because I was really tired, but luckily my power-nap revived me and I was able to suck it up and go! Anyway, the show was amazing. I wish we could have been closer to the front, but pregnancy kind of changes concert-experiences. We still had a blast in the seated section :) I love these guys more and more-especially after seeing and hearing them live. Cannot wait for their new album to come out! Definitely a band to see, if you ever get the chance.

Nesting at it's finest...
The best husband in the world officially caught the nesting bug (along with yours truly) and got around to painting the nursery this past weekend. He spent a LOT of time-especially on the Chevron-and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined! I love it!

3 years!
Today marks my three year anniversary at Yahoo!, which in and of itself, is pretty cool. I work for an amazing company, that I really do love, which has exposed to me to the exciting world of digital media, taught me SO much, introduced me to so many people I otherwise wouldn't have ever known, taken me on countless work trips that usually feel more like mini-vacations and most importantly, it's where I met the love of my life.
I posted something on Facebook, but I don't think my words can ever do justice to how I feel when I think back to this time in my life. When I think back to starting at Yahoo!, my first thoughts are always about Josh. I started a week before him, but little did I know how much my life was about to change once I met this incredible man. I remember initially thinking, "this guy is hilarious!" and always finding myself laughing at his non-stop jokes. I didn't realize at first that our "friendship" was actually about to become so much more. (and to him, it already was!)
Josh always tells me there was a reason he was trying to get me to go to happy hour or hang out, which we did a couple of times, but for some reason, it didn't click that this guy likes me, likes me! I think because I was getting out of a weird summer fling, I wasn't picking up on his hints, but that's beside the point. It took a week-long work trip together to NYC to discover that what I had been missing all along, was standing right in front of me. I'll never forget it.
I could go on and on about when we both first came to this realization, how we could immediately finish each others sentences, how we constantly made each other laugh until it hurt or how it felt like we were the only two people in the world when we were together after we shared our first kiss (4th night into training at a music bar called Pianos in NYC ;) ) but I'll leave that for another time.
Literally, SO much has happened in three years-it really is hard to wrap my head around. It's hard to believe where life has taken us during this time-it's been such an incredible journey so far. Who would have thought we'd be married and having our first baby in a few months? We joked about that the other night, by the way, and both of us could not stop laughing at thinking back to telling ourselves 3 years ago that all of this would have happened!
In many ways, we are completely different people but also still very much the same. I completely believe in fate and God working in mysterious ways by bringing us together, at that time in our lives. (there were so many other times we could have met, but those times weren't right) Those who know both of us well, know that we didn't have the easiest couple of years before we met and it really feels like we were put through all of that to get to where we are today. And where we are today is the most perfect place to be. Never been happier in my entire life and I owe so much of that to my best friend, husband, and father to our baby, Joshuaj. Love him with all of my heart and soul!
I can't wait for what the future holds!

(Keep in mind this was before smartphones had good cameras-and if I would have known how momentous this trip would have been, I would have taken loads of more pictures!!)

Food, Friends, Fun!
Lately, my life has revolved around food. Which is okay. I'm coming to terms with gaining the pregnancy weight, hoping I just lose it fast and learning to enjoy the moment by eating delicious things in the meantime! (and stop obsessing about it-poor Josh, he has to hear me talk about it too often :( I'm working on it though!) That being said, I haven't let these feelings get in the way too much...see below for evidence:

Lake of the Ozarks
Just got back from an amazing trip to the Ozarks with the Johnson side of the family and it was a blast! We shared a gorgeous lake house with two different families they are close to (more like mansion-it slept 16 people!) and were able to use their yacht the whole time to boat to different coves, restaurants, bars, etc.. Both of us took so many pics, but I'll just go ahead and post some from my phone on here to give you a glimpse: (I swear, we will get Minnesota and Ozarks pics up to our Picasa page soon!)
And lastly, I should probably give a baby update before I forget! Baby J is KICKING like crazy! I love it! It seems like every couple of days the amount of kicks are increasing and intensity of them is getting a little stronger as well. During Total Recall, he pretty much kicked 95% of the movie! Part of me thinks he didn't like the loud noise and the other part thinks it could have been due to the fact that I ate a lot of Sour Patch kids. haha! I hope it was neither and he was just feelin' feisty!
I love feeling him kick though. Whenever it happens, I can't help but smile and laugh a little bit to myself. Or make some obnoxious baby comment like, "Baby heard that! Or doesn't like this music!" :) I did read that in the coming weeks, they may start to hurt a little and he might even start kicking my ribs-that's kind of a scary thought! But...all worth it of course and part of this amazing experience.
