Favorite time of the year

AH, Fall.  I am SO happy you are pretty much here.  (Officially a couple more weeks, but today it really feels like it!)  I absolutely love this season.  I think most people would say summer is their favorite time of year, for obvious reasons, but I personally prefer the Fall.

Football starts (before Josh, I would have never been as excited as I am now for this!  He has shown me the way to the dark side HAHA  And yes, I am in two Fantasy Football leagues this year-kicking booty already in both might I add!), football food (Josh and I tend to get really creative in the kitchen this time of year! :) ) obviously the beautiful changing trees, cooler weather, fashion-I love me some boots! and darker/bolder colors, changing my hair (I think I am going to resist the urge and stay blonde so I don't confuse the baby too much-I usually get sick of having darker hair after a month or so), PUMPKIN EVERYTHING/seasonal foods (I don't drink that much coffee but Hello Pumpkin Spice Latte's at Starbucks-I had my first one of the year today and got overly excited by their menu of pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, etc.), pumpkin patches=can't wait for Vala's!, HALLOWEEN!! (by the way, I need to come up with a good preggo costume this year!  ideas welcome :) ) and of course, the start of the holiday season when you see everyone you love and eat lots of delicious food.  The best.

To get you all excited, here are some Fall items I've recently pinned on Pinterest:

Pumpkin pancakes...must try!

DIY bling pumpkin HA!

These look so good!

Pumpkin cookies

Pumpkin pie shake (starting to go a little overboard, I know!)

Definitely taking one of these pics!

I'm sure there's a virgin option, right? :)

How cute are these?!  Mini pumpkin pies

It just puts me in a great mood.  I hope the weather continues to stay like this (today it's around 66 or so my car says).  I am so sick of the hot weather we've had!  I'm sure in a couple of months I'll miss it, but not yet!

I'm also in a really great mood because I had my doctor's appointment this morning and as far as I know, I passed my glucose test (they said no news is good news and it's been a few hours-test only takes one for results), I didn't gain as much weight as I thought, (I'm on track but need to be careful around the sweets and try to walk more-something I've already been doing) and the best news is our ultrasound got moved from the 28th to NEXT FRIDAY!!!  I am so happy!  I hate waiting for those.  I just want to know everything is okay and see our little J man on the big screen again.  So thankful that I have a nice doctor who agreed to move it up a couple of weeks.

Anyway, I don't know about you, but I'm ready for the weekend!  Josh and I are staying in and cooking a new meal together tonight.  Excited to try it out!  Pics to follow, of course. ;)  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Vega$ Vacation

Josh and I spent Labor Day weekend in one of our favorite spots-Las Vegas!  Of course, this trip was a little different than previous ones, but we still managed to have a great time!  I know some people thought I was crazy for going out there 6 1/2 months pregnant, but there really are so many things you can do out there that don't involve drinking or "clubbing."

Some pics from the trip: (I didn't take as many as I thought :( )

At the airport-excited for our last trip for a while!
The guys-first night there-this show was really good!  (a little raunchy at times, but hilarious/amazing what they could do in that small tent!)

The girls.  (Note to self:  don't wear horizontal stripes-especially when you are pregnant-or they will make you appear wider/larger than you really are!  Horrible pic of me but everyone else looks cute!)

GAME DAY!!
Bro's
Delicious burgers and shakes!

Couldn't resist...hehe

Before:  Patty treated us to a day at the salon to get deep conditioning treatment and makeup done with the girls before Grandma Annie's surprise birthday dinner!
After: model pose, of course :)

Josh had to sit right in front of him the whole dinner haha!

Couples (prenatal for me) massage at Caeser's!  (best massage of my life!)

Serendipity 3 Frrrrozen hot chocolate and Reese's PB shake: SO.GOOD.

Huge food portions!

Overall, I felt pretty good and was able to stay up later than I thought!  My only "pregnancy complaint" is that my feet are so sore and I can't wear heels anymore. :(  I wore them two nights in a row (actually, wedges because they have more support) and my left foot/ankle is so sore I can barely walk on it.  I need to invest in some good shoes, and by good, I mean probably unattractive. haha Oh well...it could be worse!

The baby seemed to enjoy himself while we were there.  (see photos for all of the food I consumed!)  He's still kicking me a lot-mainly at night but also randomly throughout the day.  It's my favorite feeling!  We have our 27 week appointment this Friday-I have to take the glucose test-wish me luck!  In three more weeks we'll get to see him for another ultrasound-hopefully 3D-CAN'T WAIT!  (I hope these next three weeks fly by!)

26 weeks!

Before I forget...;)

Hello Third Trimester!

I know this sounds crazy, but I didn't realize I was in the third trimester already!  I can't believe it.  The first half of my pregnancy seemed to move SO SLOW, but now it feels like it's moving so fast!  I really can't believe we only have around 3 months left before we get to meet our little guy!  It's very surreal.

I feel like we're on track with everything-nursery, birthing classes, registry, etc. but at the same time, haven't done a ton of reading on what to do once he's here.  (breastfeeding, sleeping, etc.)  I hope that comes naturally and if not, I know I have a few people I can go to for advice!  (that and the internet + all the baby books we have)  Ugh, I can't get myself to read through every chapter of those books though.  They seem never-ending.  What did people do before all of these crazy books were written?  Just go with their natural instinct, obviously.  So I'm going to try to do a little of both I guess and hope it works out!

It's also strange to think about how different our lives will become once he arrives.  I want to savor the little things that Josh and I can do so easily as a couple now, even if it's just our time together to watch our favorite shows or cook a meal.  I know that we'll still be able to do all of the things that we love, but it just won't be as easy once the baby comes.  So I definitely am not taking any of our time together for granted!

On the flip side, both of us are so ready for December!  There's only so much you can do up until then.  It's an extremely long waiting game.  And I'm constantly reminded of him by the size of my ever-growing belly! (note to self: take more belly pics!  I've been slacking)  The good thing is, we have a lot to look forward to leading up to his birth (hello football, everything FALL, Halloween, Thanksgiving!) so I think it will go by pretty fast.  Until then, I'll just have to keep daydreaming to get by.  :)

Mumford & Sons

Monday night we went to see one of our favorite bands, Mumford & Sons, at the Pinewood Bowl in Lincoln.  I have to note a couple of things here:

1) This is the place where I used to run cross country-like, all of the time!  We practiced and actually had a lot of meets here back in the day, so it brought back a ton of memories for me.  Speaking of memories, one of my first ones as a kid was going to my brother's cross country meets here and running down the "slides" a.k.a. seriously dangerous wooden slides meant for sledding in the winter. (I think that's what their purpose was...)

2) This is the first year they've had live music since 1995-and they actually got some really good bands!  Rumor has it, this was due to the fact that they finally got a liquor license. (makes sense)

3) I love this place.  It's so "outdoorsy" and cute.  You're nuzzled in between lit-up pine trees and it only fits about 5,000 people, so it's very intimate for an outdoor venue.

4) Can't wait for next year!  The place just gives me warm fuzzies inside when I think about it or experience it.

I'm so glad we ended up going-I almost flaked out because I was really tired, but luckily my power-nap revived me and I was able to suck it up and go!  Anyway, the show was amazing.  I wish we could have been closer to the front, but pregnancy kind of changes concert-experiences.  We still had a blast in the seated section :)  I love these guys more and more-especially after seeing and hearing them live.  Cannot wait for their new album to come out!  Definitely a band to see, if you ever get the chance.

A few pics below:

Loved their lighting!

Nesting at it's finest...

The best husband in the world officially caught the nesting bug (along with yours truly) and got around to painting the nursery this past weekend.  He spent a LOT of time-especially on the Chevron-and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined!  I love it!

Starting the Chevron stripes (after painting the other three walls navy blue and green)

Shot of it with navy - (turned out perfect!) Still need to erase the chalk grid he made as a guide
And another shot of it next to the green...

Sports bedding from PB we registered for (minus bumper, of course!)

The inspiration for our green/blue combo (Josh's fave color is green-mine is blue)
