Julian takes over home in Ridges

This was my first full week "teaching my nana" about my world.  She said I get got all A's.  Here is what I accomplished:

1. Random squealing which I'm quite sure sounds pretty cool to the world, but it's my secret on what I'm saying.

2.  I love to sleep.  I work hard, play hard and get lots of sleep so by next year I will be taller than all my Guamanian relatives.  "Shut eye, (clear eyes), full tummy, (full heart), CAN'T LOSE!  Yes, I'm that competitive.

3.  Everyone needs to know that by mid-afternoon, I'm looking for my mommy and that's that.  But I will take treats (lots of toys and money) and love until I see her.  But she does come back and I'm totally happy to see mommy (and daddy too).

4.  Blue must be my favorite color, because I seem to be wearing a "blue devil" often.

5.  I'm pretty coordinated and love my toys. Just try putting something in front of me-  I will "own" it.  But, if you have a basketball game on (or a cute baby show with animals), I might watch TV.  Sorry, but I do LIKE TV; what's so bad about that?  I will still be brilliant.

6.  On the last day, Nana whispered a song to me (hush little baby song, but more importantly, she said she would buy me everything I wanted).  So, yes,  I like listening to singing after all. (especially that song).

7.  Papa keeps making weird noises at me.  He just hybernates behind a door and every so often comes out and is weird.

Nana gave me a report card:
Finding hands and using them to soothe:  A+
Beginning of drooling time  A
Visual memory of home and setting A
Using hands to hit A+
Vocals A+
Love of exercize A++
Leg strength A++

Next week, we are going to work more on tummy time and hand coordination.
I love when my Nana and Mimi play with me- they both "rock"!
Found my voice!

Yay for Duke.

I love toys! (and TV)

I pulled the ring off a few times-ha!

I'm cuter than Humpty Dumpty!

I missed my mommy and daddy, but they came back!
I look pretty good. (I sneezed on this mirror too!)

Crib training

Night 2...wish us luck!  Search "Baby Merlin Sleepsuit" and you'll see what Julian is wearing right now...supposed to take the place of a swaddle at around 3 months because babies tend to outgrow their bassinet and do not like the feeling of being swaddled anymore.  (Julian never has liked that feeling though)

In the meantime, here is an image from our dropcam (a.k.a. video baby monitor):

As you can see, Julian looks like he is wearing a marshmallow suit.  It's meant to limit the movement from the startle reflexes and give him the comfort of being cuddled...we'll see if we have better luck tonight!  Stay tuned...

First full week at work

Missing my sweet baby so much this week but know that he is in good hands while we are at work. A few pics while he was with both grandma's this week!

Keep it together.

I'm trying to these last few days I have at home with my babe. I am trying not to think about being away from him so much and just making the most of this precious time, but it's been really hard. Just when I think I'm okay with going back to work, I break down and cry. I don't know how I'm going to do it! Just have to remind myself that most people do this and their babies are fine...and still love them...and won't forget about them...and they won't miss out on everything...ugh. Here I go again...if anyone still reads this, could use some positive energy/vibes/thoughts/prayers...

Happy Valentine's Day!

I started J's birth story and have it saved as a draft...realizing I can still blog in the meantime :) (whenever I have time)

I honestly think I won't get to finishing it until I'm back at work...speaking of...I go back in 2 1/2 weeks! I can't believe it. Now I get it whenever I hear other parents say how fast time flies! It just seems like yesterday we were welcoming our baby boy into the world! I don't know how I'm going to do it...can't even imagine being away from my baby that long! But it helps to know that most of the world's moms do the same thing every day...it's just going to be really, really hard. I better invest in some Kleenex Costco-style. I have a feeling that first week I am going to be needing it non-stop! :(

Onto happier things...here are some pics of my handsome little man from today! Love him so much! It's so hard to capture his smile once he sees our phones or cameras-go figure! But he does it constantly and is really alert already! He is a bit of a mama's boy and likes to follow wherever I'm at (if it isn't with him!). Of course he loves his Daddy too! He loves to watch him make funny faces and noises and I'm pretty sure he is starting to giggle now! So cute. Love this time home with him.

Oh and I have the best hubby ever! Josh surprised me with my first set of real pearls!! We weren't going to get each other anything this year but he decided to anyway haha! Those who know me know how much I love pearls-so excited to finally have some real ones-they are gorge!

Julian's birth story

Is coming soon...I figured if I wrote it down I would have to follow through so stay tuned!

P.s. it's really tough to find time to blog right now-obviously!

P.p.s recent pic of my little man! No words can describe all of the joy he's brought to our lives already. He completes our family and being a mama is more than I ever could have imagined! Life is good. Heart full of love.
