I just had the craziest feeling/realization. Today is November 1st...I'm due in 5 weeks....but next Friday we are having a follow-up ultrasound because I was showing a week ahead of what they originally thought so really, it could be closer to 4 weeks! And if we want to get even crazier...sooner than that! (so many people I know are going before their due date...a girl can dream-as long as that dream isn't TOO early :) ) OMG.OMG.OMG.
I started looking at my desk calendar and I only have 2 1/2 more weeks in the actual office. Then, I am working from home and THEN, the week after that is NEST FEST 2012! (get it?)
I just told Josh that it felt like that feeling you get before going on a really big/scary/exciting/new roller coaster at an amusement park (think Universal Studios, not Worlds of Fun). I am a roller coaster enthusiast-don't worry-but...I always get a little freaked out right before, then once it gets going and I realize there's no turning back, I let go and enjoy the ride! This is my analogy to impending motherhood? I like it. I like it a lot!
I thought at this point I would be getting freaked out and worried about ridiculous little things (we still need this and that, I still need to pack a hospital bag, I don't have visitor-worthy PAJAMAS...etc.) but I really don't care! I am so excited. Every day we drive home from the office, we take the exit where we see the hospital where baby boy will soon be born! So surreal. Just a few more weeks...
I teeter-totter between enjoying these last weeks as a family of 3 (don't forget Miss Sookie!)...and being so excited to start the next chapter of our lives with the little guy. I don't want to take any of it for granted! So excited for what's to come, but also realizing that so much of what we're used to is about to change big time! Trying to remember to do all of the things we love that will be harder to do once he's here...but dreaming of all of the things we'll GET to do once he's here as well...

Baby shower!
I have been so bad about updating this thing! I had my baby shower a few weeks ago and it was really special! There were so many adorable little details that went into everything - from the decor, to the food, to the games we played - so much fun! I haven't been to that many baby showers yet, so I never really knew what to expect but it was perfect and more than I could have imagined!
Some pics below...

The good and the bad
I just deleted what I was going to originally post. It basically detailed my latest experience dealing with insomnia, but you know what? I am done posting about negative things! When I look back on this blog and these memories, I want it to be a positive experience. Obviously, some days are harder than others, but for the most part-this has been an amazing pregnancy and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! So, enough complaining about lack-of-sleep. Or weight gain. Or whatever. I'm done.
Here are some positive things that occurred over the last weekend: (get ready...!)
I finally indulged in my Orange Leaf addiction this Friday and got this:
It was everything I dreamed of and more.
Then, my wonderful MIL took me and Stacie (sister-in-law) shoe shopping. Two pairs of Tom's: (so comfy!)
And these black boots! They have a "fake heel" so I can wear them all the time! Wearing them today and love them!
I can't believe I'm (pretty much) 8 months pregnant now! I know I keep saying it, but time is really starting to fly by and almost all thoughts are consumed by the excitement this little guy has brought into both of our lives. Can't wait to meet him!
